Course Objective

Making to enable student teachers to teach Life Sciences course taught 1-2 and 3rd grades in elementary schools both theoretically and practically. In addition, they will also have an idea about the general aims, contents and practices of the New Program launched in Türkiye in 2018

1   Able to know the purpose and content of Life Sciences course.
2   Able to know students' cognitive development features and adapting them to Life Sciences course.
3   Able to know and practicing all teaching strategies, methods and techniques used in Life Sciences course.
4   Able to know and practice all assessment and evaluation methods used in Life Sciences course.
5   Able to know the importance of Life studies in rising efficient citizens.

1 Basic definitions and concepts about teaching Life Sciences
2 The methodology of Social Sciences and its effects on teaching Life Sciences
3 Re-defining teaching Life Sciences on the basis of constructivist learning approach
4 Examination of Life Sciences
5 Transmission of citizenship and Social Studies as social science approaches
6 The themes in the life information program and the distribution of the achievements in the themes according to classes.
7 Evaluate the methods of developing empathy skills and student samples of empathy.
8 General review, course evaluation, midterm exam
9 The place of multi-intelligence theory in the teaching of life science.
10 Drama with theoretical and practical dimensions.
11 Use of resources and materials in life science teaching
12 Values and democracy education in the teaching of life science
13 Examples of teaching life science education.
14 Examples of teaching life science education.
15 Final exam
