Course Objective

To teach main piano techniques and practice methods; to performance works from piano repertoire.

5   Determines the effectiveness of the performance to detect mistakes in the playing works

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Siting correctly, the position of body, feet, shoulder arms and hands on piano.
2 Studying score reading. Correct position of hands on keyboard, technical exercises.
3 Legato and non legato playing styles, technical exercises in symmetric and parallel positions.
4 Exercises for intensify of independance of hands. Giving info about Legato and Repeatation Signals.
5 Teaching of sentence concept in music. Introduction to ( p, f, mp, ff, pp, cres, decress.)
6 Double sounds, the pieces that contain harmonic and melodic intervals, Do Maj scale and arpeggio.
7 Exercises for gaining speed + Midterm Exam.
8 Exercises for gaining speed + Midterm Exam.
9 Intensifing of those exercises with little etudes.
10 Intensifing of those exercises with little etudes.
11 C maj and G maj scale and arpeggios
12 Staccatto and triole
13 D Maj and A Min scales and arpeggios
14 Playing etudes containing quarter notes
15 Final Exam
