Course Objective

The aim of this course is to teach Turkish Language and Literature teacher candidates the general structure of Ottoman Turkish, the spelling and reading forms of letters, the spelling rules of Turkish words and to gain the ability to read literary texts written in the 19th century.

3   To be able to read 19th and 20th century printed texts of Ottoman Turkish
4   To be able to interpret Ottoman Turkish texts
