Course Objective

The course objective is to help students to comprehend drama and drama related concepts such as creativity, creative drama and improve their English language teaching skills with drama.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. Comprehend drama and fundamental drama concepts such as creativity, creative drama, play and theatre pedagogy etc.
2   2. Be knowledgeable about history of drama.
3   3. Apprehend application steps of drama in education.
4   4. Prepare creative drama lesson plan and apply it.
5   6. Develop communication-interaction skills and appreciate the contribution of drama in individual and social development of someone.

1 Introduction of the lesson and course materials. Application of a drama plan. Testing and Evaluation in Drama
2 Definition of some key concepts such as; drama, dramatic, dramatic situation, dramatic play, play, spontaneity, creativity, creative drama, process drama, psychodrama etc. Drama application in Second language teaching
3 Components of drama; leader, group, setting, subject Drama application in Second language teaching
4 Structure, characteristics, aims and benefits of drama Final Exam
5 Historical development of drama. Drama and theatre comparison.
6 Application of a process drama plan
7 Application of a process drama plan
8 Course overview, Course evaluation,Midterm Exam
9 Drama techniques such as improvisation, role-playing, simultaneous improvisation, role corridor, dramatization, role changing, consciousness alley etc.
10 Drama plan in teaching and components of dramatic fiction
