Course Objective

To comprehend developments in science and technology from past upto present, and effects of these developments on human and social life.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explains relationship of science and technology in the past and in our day, and developments occured in science and technology from past to present.
2   Comprehends effects of science and technology on social change, and relationship between science and technology.
3   Knows common scientific heritage of mankind; famous Turkish scientists; and famous foreign scientists.
4   Evaluates effect of comtemporary scientific developments such as organ and tissue transplantation, nano-technology, gene technology etc. on life.
5   Possesses knowledge on Turkish Patent Institute; copyrights and patent rights; aeronautics and space studies.
