Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide students with an understanding of social studies programs in terms of approach, content, learning areas, learning attainments, skills, values, learning-teaching processes and assessment-evaluation approaches, and gain skills to evaluate programs in an objective way.

1   To be able to explain the basic concepts of social studies curriculum
2   To be able to grasp the historical development, goals and approach of the social studies curriculum
3   To be able to explain the basic elements of social studies curriculum
4   To be able to analyze the content and learning-teaching processes of social studies curriculum
5   To be able to evaluate the role of teachers in the preparation and implementation of curricula
