Course Objective

To be able to learn the location and position of Türkiye. To be to learn climate, soil and vegetation properties, hydrological properties and geological-geomorphological evolution of Türkiye. To be to learn mainly environmental problems and natural disasters in Türkiye

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to learn the location and position of Türkiye, topographic properties of Türkiye (elavation, slope, topographic unevenesses etc)
2   To be able to learn with outlines the climate, plant cover and soil properties of Türkiye
3   To be able to learn the main geological formations and their distributions in Türkiye
4   To be able to learn the roles and effects of the internal and external forces on the formation of landforms in Türkiye
5   To be able to learn the main landforms (mountains, plateaus and plains) of Türkiye
6   To be able to learn the outlines of karst, glacier and volcanoe topagrapy of Türkiye
7   To be able to learn he effects and consequences of the major environmental problems and natural disasters in Türkiye

1 The location and position of Türkiye. The topographic properties (elavation, slope, topographic unevenesses etc) of Türkiye
2 The planetar and physical geographical factors which determine the climate of Türkiye. The general pressure and wind conditions of Türkiye
3 The temperature and evaporation conditions of Türkiye
4 Humudity, precipiation conditions and major climate types in Türkiye
5 The main geological formations and their distributions in Türkiye
6 The roles of internal and external forces which have been effected on the formation of landforms in Türkiye
7 General Review, Course Evaluation, Midterm Exam
8 The main landforms (mountains, plateaus and plains) of Türkiye
9 Karst, glacier topography and volcano topography in Türkiye
10 The vegetation geography of Türkiye
11 The soil types and their distributions in Türkiye
12 The major environmental problems and natural disasters in Türkiye
13 The major environmental problems and natural disasters in Türkiye
14 The land degratation and its conclusions in Türkiye
15 FINAL EXAM
