Course Objective

Teaching what basic map drawing and design techniques used in geography studies are and teaching them how to produce and interpret different thematic maps that students will need when practicing their teaching profession.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understanding the relation between map and geography, knowing map types used in geography
2   Understand map projection and coordinate systems
3   Ability to read topography maps, calculate slope using profiles and profile
4   Prepare thematic maps and use them where necessary
5   Learning to use digital geography, data collection techniques and remote sensing knowledge in geography lessons

10 Map design
11 Map design (preparation and selection of wall maps used in teaching)
12 Geology and morphology maps
13 Digital Cartography and GIS
14 Data collection techniques and remote sensing
