Course Objective

The aim of this course is to introduce the concept of mental health to prospective teachers, to gain knowledge about research and theories on adjustment and behavioral problems in children.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. Understand the basic concepts about mental health.
2   2. Enumerate all the normal and abnormal symptoms related to children s mental health
3   3. Enumerate the diagnostic and distinctive procedures of the most common mental disorders seen in children
4   4. Describing the role of the educator in terms of his/her responsibility of designing protective and intervention teamwork practices related to mental health
5   5. Having knowledge about ways to prevent mental problems that may be encountered in childhood
