Course Objective

The goal of this course is to provide students to realize history of mathematics potential for teaching mathematics and to understand its role for development of mathematics, related mathematicians and development of today's civilization.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to comprehend historical development of mathematical concepts.
2   Be able to comprehend the multicultural structure of mathematics.
3   Be able to explain mathematics' role for development of today's civilization.
4   Be able to be familiar with important mathematicians in history of mathematics.
5   To be able to use history of mathematics in teaching mathematics.
