Course Objective

The aim of this course is to enable students to acquire knowledge to understand the functions of basic electronic circuits.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1 Being able to explain the working principles of electronic circuit elements.
2   2 To know the usage of electronic circuit elements in daily life
3   3 Being able to understand the importance of semiconductor devices for technological developments.
4   4 Being able to apply knowledge of basic electricity to analyze the electronic circuit.
5   5 Being able to apply theoretical course information to simple electronic circuit design

Course Contents

1 Electric current, direct voltage and direct current, resistance and general concept of resistance; Ohm's law
2 Inductor in a DC circuit
3 Circuit solutions; superposition method, equivalent circuit concept
4 Thevenin and Norton equivalent circuits
5 Alternative voltage and alternative current; a special kind of ripple , wave types, sinusoidal, compound wave and Fourier series; effective and direct current value; Effective value of sinusoidal current, effective value of sawtooth current, power, phase and phase difference in sinusoidal currents
6 Circuit elements, resistors, bobbins, capacitors, behavior of these circuit elements
7 Complex analysis of alternative current circuits
8 General Review, Course Evaluation, Midterm Exam
9 Diodes
10 Diodes
11 Transistor structure and classification
12 Basic electronic circuits
13 Solar batteries, phototransistors
14 Analog and digital signals; optoelectronic building components.
