Course Objective

With relate to everday life to consolidate, improve, complement shortage and show application of chemistry knowledge which is learned in elementary and secondary schools. Using the their chemical information, to improve skills of inqiry, problem solving and critical thinking.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   distinguish chemical reaction types
2   draw potential energy diagrams of chemical reactions
3   explain chemical reaction rate and reaction kinetic concepts.
4   define how various effects change chemical equilibrium and equilibrium constant
5   have the knowledge about chemical thermodynamics such as enthalpy, entropy and internal energy and will be able to solve problems
6   define solubility equilibrium
7   describe acid-base balances and buffer solutions
8   understand the basic concepts of electrochemistry
9   obtain awareness of nuclear chemistry issues
10   acquire scientific reasoning skills
11   acquire experimental skills

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

The homeworks will be assessed by directly adding to the mid-term scores. The exam dates will be indicated in the lesson plan. As the exam dates become definite, the previously announced dates may change.

Assessment Criteria

1. The basic principals of chemistry, the laws of chemistry will be assessed by exams, homeworks, portfolios and projects.

1. It is obligated to continue to at least 70% of lessons .
2. Every trial to copying will be finalized with disciplinary proceedings.
3. The instructor has right to make quizzes. The scores obtained from quizzes will be directly added to exam scores.
