Course Objective

To be aware of the nature of science, to learn the steps in the structuring of scientific knowledge, to have knowledge about the relations between science and technology in the historical process, to prepare an environment to produce innovative ideas.

1   Discusses the purpose and characteristics of science.
2   Expresses basic discourses of important schools of philosophy of science.
3   Assesses the impact of science philosophical debates on the development of science.
4   Discusses the nature, structure and characteristics of scientific knowledge.
5   Discusses the nature of scientific methods.
6   Establishes the nature of science and the science-technology-society-environment relationship.
7   Designs activities in teaching nature.
