Course Objective

The aim of this internship is broaden the knowledge, skills and attitude that the students have gained in previous years in cardiac and vascular diseases and have the opportunity to apply these in a clinical setting.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Perform cardiac and vascular system examination, assess pathological sign and symptoms
2   Take history, perform the physical examination, order necessary diagnostic examinations, interpret the results of diagnostic tests, discuss differential diagnosis and diagnosis in cardiac and vascular diseases
3   Assess emergencies and perform relevant emergency care in cardiac and vascular diseases
4   Perform medical practical procedures necessary for the diagnosis and treatment of the patient
5   Develop an appropriate communication with the patient and his/her relatives

During the internship period the assessment are based on competency and evaluated as satisfactory/not satisfactory

Article 24
(4) In the 6th year the internships are evaluated as satisfactory/not satisfactory . In order to be qualified as satisfactory he/she has to attend 90% of the related clinical and laboratory applications, complete night duties and all the other responsibilities depicted in the curriculum and have all these registered in his/her log-book. In case of failure the rotation is repeated.
