The objective of this course is to give an education to students regarding structure of nanomaterials and their potential use for biomedical applications.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. Students are expected to identify nanomaterials and should be able to classify them
2   2. Should be able to have information about biocompatibility and potential functions.
3   3. Should have information about nanobiosensor and medical applications.
4   4. Should be able have information about targeted drug delivery and nanomedical devices
5   5. Should have enough information about nanopharmacology and nonotoxicology

3 Types of nanomaterials:Organic NMs, Carbon nanoplatforms, Dendrimers
4 Characterization of NMs
5 Biocompatibility and functionalization,
6 Applications of biocompatible NMs
7 Nanobiosensors and applications
8 Midterm exam
9 Targeted drug delivery with NMs
10 Nanomedical devices: Nanorobots, nanoimplants, tissue engineering
11 Nanopharmacology: Gene delivery with NMs, nanoimmunotherapy,NMs for thermal ablation, design trends for individualized medicine
12 Nanotoxicoloy
13 Assessment of students presentations about NMs and medical applications
