Course Objective

At the end of this course, students acquire knowledge of developments in the Turkish Educational History from Pre-Islamic Turkish history to the present by learning the importance of Turkish Education History.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to summarize the education in Turks before Islam
2   To be able to explain the education in first Muslim Turkish States, Seljuks and Anatolian Sultanates
3   To be able to write the basic elements of Establishment and Classical Ottoman Empire education history
4   To be able to tell the developmental stages of Turkish education system before the Republican Period
5   To be able to analyze the historical development of the Turkish education from the beginning until the Tanzimat Period.
