Course Objective

To progress technical and musical control of the instrument for playing solos, accompaniment and chamber music. To examine all of the studies and to compare with the own works for recognition self-development and learning concepts.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The student grasps technical and musical overview of works
2   The students are able to find some technical exercises for solving the technical problems in the works.
3   Interpreting the works which are written in different styles and periods for appropriate level in the piano repertoire.
4   Takes part in the project and responsibility for present the works.
5   Performs the different technical playing in the modern repertoire of the piano.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Semester Week1: Course Introduction and Planning Selection of pieces for semester and final exam. Scope of this course covers one Chopin etude and one concerto (Mozart, Beethoven or Mendelssohn).
2 Semester Week2: Chopin Etude Sight-reading of selected etude. Technical study based on the etude. Development of the stylistic interpretation.
3 Semester Week3:Chopin Etude Technical study based on the etude. Development of stylistic interpretation. Memorization study.
4 Semester Week4: Concerto, First Movement Sight-reading of the first movement of selected concerto
5 Semester Week5: Concerto, First Movement Development of stylistic interpretation of the first movement of selected concerto and memorization study.
6 Semester Week6: Concerto, First Movement Development of stylistic interpretation of the first movement of selected concerto and memorization study.
7 Semester Week7: Concerto, Second Movement Sight-reading of the second movement of selected concerto.
8 Semester Week8: Concerto, Second Movement Development of stylistic interpretation of the second movement of selected concerto and memorization study.
9 Semester Week9: Concerto, Second Movement Development of stylistic interpretation of the second movement of selected concerto and memorization study.
10 Semester Week10: Concerto, Third Movement Sight-reading of the third movement of selected concerto.
11 Semester Week11: Concerto, Third Movement Development of stylistic interpretation of the third movement of selected concerto and memorization study.
12 Semester Week12: Concerto, Third Movement Development of stylistic interpretation of the third movement of selected concerto and memorization study.
13 Semester Week13: Chopin Etude Recapitulation of Chopin etude studied on the second and third week of the semester; improvement of performance details.
14 Semester Week14: Complete Concerto Recapitulation of the concerto studied along the semester; Repetition of complete concerto; improvement of performance details.

Main source LIST OF WORK solo or with accompaniment from the Renaissances to contemporary for appropriate level in the piano repertoire.

Supporting resources: Video and audio records of works to be performed, books of domestic and foreign written about review and analysis of the works.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The classes are given like one professor and one student. The learned must be performed on stage, for the exam and the competitions.
