Course Objective

To introduce the writers of 18th century Russian literature and to teach their works.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Baroque in Russian literature,pre-classicism,emotivism, movements such as pre-romanticism are defined;works are reviewed.
2   examine the reflections of developments experienced during the process of Europeanization in the period of Peter I.
3   interpret, the spread of the Enlightened thoughts in Russian cultural and literary fields during the reign of Catherine II, the process of democratization experienced in literature and the written work of this period.
4   grasp the historical process experienced in Russian literature in XVIII century
