Course Objective

To teach students about the authors of Russian literature of the first half of the 19th century and their literary works.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. Learn about historical and cultural environment of Russia in the first half of the 19th century
2   2. Study the authors and literary works of Russian literature of the first half of the 19th century
3   3. Understand basic concepts and terms of Russian literature of the first half of the 19th century;
4   4. Learn about literary criticism of the 19th century;
5   5.Gains the ability to distinguish between literary and instructive discourse.
