Course Objective

To acquire basic skills about the clinical applications of dental biomaterials used in dentistry and to continue the projects and scientific studies on the subject.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Defines dental biomaterials used in dentistry.
2   Gains clinical application skills of dental biomaterials.
3   Defines regenerative approaches in line with the functions of the mouth, teeth and jaw area.
4   Interprets clinical treatment approaches.
5   Discusses the treatment success of dental biomaterials.
6   Understands and questions studies related to clinical applications of dental biomaterials.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Clinical applications of biomaterials used for fixation in oral, dental and maxillofacial surgery. Clinical application of biomaterials used in root canal preparation.
2 Digital workflow in implant dentistry. Clinical application of biomaterials used guided tissue regeneration.
3 Clinical application of membranes. Sutur materials.
4 Clinical application of bone grafts. Clinical application of medications used in endodontic treatment.
5 Clinical application of biomaterials used in the diagnosis of oral lesions and maxillofacial pathologies.
6 Biomaterials used in tooth bleaching.
7 Clinical application of digital radiography techniques.
8 Clinical appliaction of ultrasonography.
9 Clinical appliaction of cone beam computed tomography.
10 Clinical application of biomaterials used in soft tissue regeneration.
11 Clinical application of biomaterials used in pediatric dentistry II
