Course Objective

To reveal the relationship between women's issues and anti-women discourses in religions; to show the relationship of the patriarchal mentality in societies, the understanding that prioritizes the existence of men and their rights, and emphasizes gender difference; to emphasize the influence of religious discourses in the background of perceptions and acceptances about women; To understand the methodology of addressing women's issues by examining religious teachings in an impartial way.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1 Recognizes religious discourses that cause women's problems
2   2 Comprehends the religious effects of perceptions and acceptances about women.
3   3 Establishes relationships between women's issues and anti-women discourse in religious teachings
4   4 By gaining the habit of looking at religious teachings objectively, students try to understand women's problems arising from religions.
