Course Objective

Digital storytelling involves novel and short digital media productions that tell stories with continuously changing and updated by digital technologies. In addition to classical media such as film, sound, photography and drawing, virtual and electronic media are also utilized. In this course, as a practice which is concurrent with the dawn of humanity, storytelling will be exemplified through its contemporary Web-based, interactive, hypertextual, video game, social media or IPTV-based examples and the production of content will be kept up to date with current developments.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of this course, student will be expected to have a knowledge of the following: 1. What digital storytelling practice is, 2. What the basics of digital storytelling are, 3. The well-known and contemporary digital storytelling examples, 4. The ways of experiencing the production of digital content production, and 5. The modes of production and reception of such practices.
