Course Objective

It aims teaching painting simple decor boards in stage design with limning techniques, learning various painting materials and making practical study of painting techniques and making studies on painting stage backgrounds and teaching production stages of stage accessories.

1   Be able to learn usage areas of different stage decor materials by means of design and practice
2   Be able to solve problems at design and production phases of stage backgrounds, have a critical perspective, be able to produce solutions...
3   Be able to learn different techniques on design and practice of moving decor parts forming the base of stage design
4   Be able to evaluate the theoretic information in stage design in light of information he/she gained during his/her practice
5   Be able to develop special skills on fields of limning and theatrical property

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

1 Lessons
The lecturer directs stage design students to make appropriate analyses within the scope of the project they have chosen and directs them to produce solutions to problems that may arise during practice. He/she asks from students to prepare and present their designs regarding the project in written and visually (report, construction, etc.)
2 Revision Sessions and Class Discussions
While creating technical analyses on design stage, discussions and suggestions regarding analyzing conditions like cost, repair, etc. are determined by the lecturer and students' opinions are encouraged.
3 Practices
During the process of passing to practice stage from design stage, students try to make their works possible to be presented to the audience by using the knowledge they gained in other technical lessons and by using their workshop experience.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

During the lesson evaluation stage, grading will be based on first of all creativity on designs, realization ratio while passing to production stage from design stage, harmony of chosen materials and products, appropriateness of the technique and the theatrical property that came out and its applicability on production.

Assessment Criteria

1. The score to be obtained from student participation,
2. Attendance at classes,
3. The quality of the student's answers to the questions asked by the instructor during the lesson and the project work in the classroom.
4.It will depend on the student's contribution to the creation of a positive learning environment.

1. Eighty percent of the course is mandatory.
2. Not attending the course will not be considered as a valid excuse for late homework assignments and projects.
