Course Objective

Evaluating both the classical and contemporary basic written examples from Turkish and World Theater, with the help of the dramaturgical surveying methods,
Dramaturgic analyse of a play text and improving it by forming a field for application, knowledge and practice about rewriting for the stage.

Any kind of books, essays, visual material and study of text analysis and interpreting is to be used.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods


It is planned that the theoric information will be given by the instructor.
Historical and conceptual, methodologic introduction will be held; also fields related to reading and analysing will be held with discussions and applications.
Papers and studies on given stage play texts, will be read in the classes and opened for debates.

In the papers of the student, it will be evaluated weather the student has been digesting and using the theoric knowledge given within the frame of the course, weather the student is interpreting the text analysis right and sufficient.
Faults and missing parts will be completed through the argumentative discussion sessions of the course.

Students are responsible for the reading of the sources about stage play texts as well as the play texts to be held in the class.
It is obligatory to hand the papers and the presentations on time and complete.It is essential to write the papers with academic language according to a very decent ruling and special attention. Plus using scientific methods while writing the issue is important.
