Course Objective

In the course, Ottoman material cultural works required for a museum will be discussed and the environment in which they emerged will be explained. The characteristics of Ottoman culture and civilization will be examined. The cultural universe where the Ottoman civilization was affected and will be determined.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   be able to possess general knowledge about Ottoman architecture.
2   to be knowledgeable about the Ottoman tombstones
3   to be knowledgeable about Ottoman books and other related materials
4   Having knowledge about the Ottoman numismatics
5   to be knowledgeable about the various museum quality materials of Ottoman period

7 Ottoman legacy in the Balkans and the Mediterranean world

9 The place of Ottoman cultural heritage in the world cultural heritage.
10 Everyday life and everyday life materials in the Ottoman Empire.
11 Ottoman civilization and palace patronage.
12 Ottoman intellectual spaces.
13 Ottoman art; understanding of art, interactions, periods.
14 Ottoman art; examination of works of art, samples.
