Course Objective

To transfer the basic theoretical information about veterinary surgery and to gain the notion of general practitioner veterinary medicine.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Makes the examination methods to be applied in the diagnosis of external diseases.
2   Makes Asepsis-Antisepsis Sterilization-Disinfection methods to be used in surgery.
3   Performs IV IM Injection serum applications
4   Recognize and apply sewing materials
5   Makes the diagnosis and treatment of visible surgical diseases.
6   Have knowledge about diagnosis and treatment of some tendo and muscle diseases.

5 Injection, Incision
6 Puncture, Drainage, Dressing and Bandage
7 Midterm
8 Surgical sutures, Suture materials and Suture methods
9 Clinical Evaluation of Fire, Acute and Chronic Abscess
10 Gangrene-Necrosis, Burn and Freezing
11 Atrophy, Stenosis, Cyst, Dilatation-Diverticulum, Hypertrophy-Hyperplasia
12 WOUND: Wound etiology, classification of wounds, wound healing and healing, complications
13 Ulcus, Fistula, Hernia, Bursitis, Hematoma, Edema
14 Phlegmon, Muscle and Tendo diseases
