Course Objective

To acquire knowledge and skills on the morphological and cultural characteristics of microorganisms, metabolism of microorganisms, genetics, inter-microorganisms, microorganism environment and organism relationships, chemotherapeutics, disinfectants, microbiological diagnostic methods and antimicrobial susceptibility tests

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students learn the macroscopic and microscopic morphological features and anatomical structure of microorganisms that cause infectious diseases.
2   Students learn the chemical structure, virulence factors and antigenic properties of microorganisms.
3   Students learn the nutrition, reproduction, enzymes and metabolism of microorganisms.
4   Students learn the genetics of microorganisms, variations in microorganisms and genetic material transfer.
5   Students understand the relationships of microorganisms with between both environment and other organisms.
6   Students learn the principles of appropriate sampling and transport to laboratory for diagnosis of infectious diseases. In addition, they learn about conventional and molecular microbiological diagnostic methods.
7   Students learns the properties of chemotherapeutics and disinfectants.
8   Students can practice the antimicrobial susceptibility tests.

4 Chemical Structure Of Microorganisms, Virulence Factors And Changes Regarding To Virulence, Antigenic Properties Of Microorganisms.
5 Needed Substances That Related To Nutrition And Growing And Also Affecting Factors On Microorganisms, Classification Of Microorganisms According To Growing Types, Growing Habitat And Types Of Microorganisms.
