General Description
History |
Department of Biomechanics was established at 2003 as a multidisciplinary department of Institute of Health Science by approval of The Council of Higher Education. Our academic personel are from engineering (mechanical, elektrics and electronics, mechatronics,material and metalurgical,chemistry engineering) and clinical (orthopadics) departments. Biomechanics Msc program has been started education at 2003. Program duration is 2,5 years (half year scientific preparatory, 1 year is course, 1 year is thesis study.). The language of program is Turkish. |

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) |
According to the Regulations of Dokuz Eylül University for Graduate Schools, students are not connected to the right for internal transfer, previously taken courses at another graduate programme by another university with a successful grade may be recognized by the related programmes after the letter of the students includes course contents and the transcript, and by the recommendation of the head of the departments and by the decision of the Board of Directors. The courses taken by the outgoing Exchange students have the recognition at the school either as compulsory or elective. |
Qualification Requirements and Regulations |
Second Cycle (Masters Degree) Programme with thesis is comprised of courses (at least 54 ECTS), a seminar (2 ECTS), and field study (4 ECTS) and thesis (60 ECTS) credits. İn total 120 ECTS credits. Students must have minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50/4.00 and completed all the courses with at least CB / S / TP grades. |
Profile of the Programme |
Biomechanics Msc programme started education at 2005.The objectives of this programme are obtaining knowledge about biomechanics terminology and basic theories, improving presentation skills, developing ability to follow, interpret and present domain-specific scientific research, acquiring knowledge and skills on basic research methods in neuroscience. Program contains Compulsory Courses each semester and elective courses in different biomechanics fields. Students may take courses from different programs and university. |

Assessment of students was done with 2 midterm examination, 1 final examination, homework and project studies. Students must have minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50/4.00 and completed all the courses with at least CB / S / TP grades. |
