History |
Master s Degree in Disaster Administration and Master s Degree in Disaster Administration Non-Thesis (MSc) which were a part of Dokuz Eylul University institute of social sciences, the department of Information Management was started to educate in 2014-2015. And after the department of Disaster Administration had been founded in 2015, Master s Degree in Disaster Administration, Master s Degree in Disaster Administration Non-Thesis (MSc) and Doctorate Degree in Disaster Administration were started to educate as parts of the department of Disaster Administration. The language of education of the program is Turkish. |

Specific Admission Requirements |
First Cycle Degree in the same or in related disciplines, Transcript, Acceptable score on ALES (Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam) or Equivalent GRE, GMAT score. Acceptable score on Language Proficiency Tests. Acceptable weighted score based on the first cycle cumulative grade point average (GPA) and ALES score. The exceptions to the requirements of ALES and Foreign Language Proficiency scores is announced by the Graduate School. However, ALES requirement is waived for the admissions to the second cycle graduate programs offered by the Conservatory and the departments of Fine Arts Faculty, where students are admitted only by the Artistic Aptitude Test as well as for the graduates of doctorate /arts proficiency/medical residency/ dental residency/ veterinary residency/ pharmaceutical residency programs. Final admission is based on the evaluation of the related academic unit committee. International student admission requirements are decided by the Graduate School Executive Committee. |

Profile of the Programme |
The master program in Disaster Administration aims to educate students with a theoretical background which also includes knowing the theories about public administration, accessing to information and the ability to interpret information. In that way, it is aimed students to gain theoretical knowledge in the fields of political science, urban and environmental problems, administrative sciences and law. Also it is aimed to associate theoretical knowledge with the practices by using the different methods such as paper, project and field research. As of secondary class, it is enabled students to specialize in the fields which they want to specialization by elective courses in their programs. |

Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples |
Through this program, civilian administrative authorities such as governors and district governors and administrators and support staff specialization will be provided in an effective way. Crisis and risk analysis specialists will be trained in the organization of public administration. The specialists will be trained for the units of Planning and Mitigation, Recovery, Administrative Services, Strategy Development, Information Systems and Communication in institutions such as Prime Ministry Disaster & Emergency Management Presidency in the central and provincial levels. The specialists who will be taken responsibilities about disaster aid, emergency calling, investment monitoring, guidance and controlling, strategy and coordination, public order and safety and migration administration, will be trained for The Investment Monitoring and Coordination Directorate. The Specialists will be trained on planning in private sector. |

Evaluation and assessment methods for each course is defined in the the Course Description Form which is prepared by related faculty member / s and included in the information package. Exams and course success notes is subject to the relevant articles of the DEU Regulation on Graduate Education. |
Graduation Requirements |
Second Cycle (Master's Degree) Non-Thesis Program is comprised of courses (at least 85 ECTS), Term Project (5 ECTS), in total 90 ECTS credits. Students must have minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50/4.00 and completed all the courses with at least CB/ S / TP grades. |
