Course Objective

The course aims to examine Turkish-American relations from the Ottoman period to the present day. Starting in the 19th century Ottoman period, Turkish-American relations will be examined and the effects of the US in the Levant and American missionary activities will be analyzed. In this context, the reflections of these relations established in the Ottoman period on modern Turkish history will be analyzed.
