Course Objective |
The aim of this course is to examine major approaches and current events in international security studies from both theoretical and policy-oriented perspectives. The course will introduce the evolution of security studies and provide an understanding of different definitions of security. After examining the Realist approach, Copenhagen School, Critical Security Studies and Human Security approaches, security issues such as international terrorism, weapons of mass destruction, asymmetric warfare, irregular warfare and environmental security will be analyzed. |
