Course Objective

In the 21st century, with the acceleration of globalization, there is a proliferation of international cooperation organizations such as the European Union. The European Union is a regional integration initiative based on economic integration. The course aims to enable students to comprehend the development, dynamics and future perspectives of European economic integration in the axis of globalization and regionalization and to make strategic analyses in the light of current economic developments.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To understand the economic integration theory
2   To understand the customs union, single market and harmonization of economic policies stage of European integration
3   To analyse economic integration forms by comparison
4   To evaluate EU with regards to economic integration
5   To address economic integration in historical process and to dispute today's European integration including monetary union stage
6   To perform global based strategic analyses.

Öğrencinin ders kapsamında işlenen konular hakkında bilgi sahibi olup olmadığı, konular üzerinde değerlendirebilme ve tartışabilme yetenekleri ara sınav ve final sınavlarıyla değerlendirilecektir. Öğrencilerin güncel gelişmeleri takip etme, analiz etme ve tartışabilme yetenekleri hazırladıkları ödev ile ölçülmektedir.

Assessment Criteria

1. LO 1-3 will be asked in mid-term exam
2. LO 1-5 will be asked in final exam
3. LO 1-5 will be assessed with term homework or presentation

1. It is compulsory to attend 70% of the courses.
2. Presentations and assignments prepared within the scope of the course must comply with scientific ethics and institute rules.
3. Absence from class will not be considered a valid excuse for late submission of homework.
