Course Objective

To reveal the security need in disasters for disadvantageous groups such as women, children, adults, disabled people and elderly people; to increase and improve social capacity administratively and personally, strengthening the weakest links which have the weakest social resilience according to disaster types; to take administrative and spatial precautions aimed at preventing any possible harm to disadvantageous groups from disasters;
to provide the ability and knowledge to evaluate administrative analyses which are effective at preventing loses and casualties according to disaster types in terms of public, private and civic sectors.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To interpret security gap risks related to disadvantageous groups in disasters.
2   To follow capacity-enhancing developments towards disadvantageous groups at international level.
3   To understand relations on risk-reducing and preventing aimed at women, children, adults, disabled people and elderly people.
4   To make strategic modelling for disadvantageous groups according to disaster types and transfer these to protective action plans at national and regional levels.
