Course Objective

This course allows the student to have information about who the vulnerable groups are, their epidemiology in the world, the sociocultural, psychological and economic problems they experience, to analyze the vulnerable groups by using their nursing roles in line with the policies to protect and improve health, and to analyze their mental processes (creative and critical thinking) during all these knowledge gains. , problem solving, decision making) to learn the knowledge and skills related to the field-specific nursing approaches in line with the current literature and the latest evidence-based information. In addition, it is to ensure that the problems experienced by vulnerable groups and the management of care are carried out with professional nursing approaches and multidisciplinary cooperation.

1   Knowing who are the vulnerable groups in societies
2   Knowing the epidemiology of vulnerable groups in the world
3   Learning social determinants in vulnerable groups
4   Addressing and discussing the causes of individual, social, cultural and psychological problems experienced by vulnerable groups
5   To be able to discuss the individual, economic and social effects of the problems experienced by vulnerable groups by considering them together with nursing approaches.
6   Learning and discussing policies towards vulnerable groups in the world and in our country
7   Producing solutions by considering the care management of vulnerable groups with multidisciplinary professional nursing approaches
8   To be able to examine and apply the current literature in line with scientific research methods in order to create innovative care strategies for developing nursing approaches for vulnerable groups.

Assessment Criteria

The semester grade shall be calculated by taking 30% of the homework/presentation, 30% participant of lesson, and will 40% of the final grade.
