Course Objective

After learning the outlines of the Turkish Arts in pre-Islamic period, students will comprehend the creation process of early periods in Turkish-Islamic Arts with major examples; will analyze expressional features and design traditions of architects and architectural decorations in Turkish Islamic Arts with historical, geographical and cultural aspects of them.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Recognise the first known periods of Turkish Arts and see its references on Turkish Islamic Arts.
2   Analyse the birth and developing periods of Turkish Islamic Arts with regional and cultural aspects of it.
3   Understands the old culture and traditions effects on artistic expressions and features
4   Gains the ability to detect and interpret the relation between regional design traditions and architectural formulations.
5   Gains the ability to research in his field.
