Course Objective

The aim of this course is to understand actors, context, ideology and rules of the systems of industrial relations in the EU member countries and Türkiye. This course is important and necessary for the students to scrutinize the emerging changes related to the economic and social policies in Türkiye in context of the discipline of industrial relations.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To understand coordination, authority, responsibility and functions of employment policies of EU and industrial relations in EU and member states.
2   To learn the features and purposes of the EU's Employment Strategy and, employment policies and practices.
3   To analyze effects of free movement of labour on the EU in terms of industrial relations.
4   To compare the change in the labor market in the member states and in Türkiye in terms of time and space and to analyze the impact of this change on the systems of industrial relations.
5   To discuss social and economic crisis and transformations in the global scale in the context of the labor market and to evaluate their effects on Türkiye.
