Course Objective

Diabetes is a global disease that affects 10% of the world's population and is expected to affect more than 600 million people by 2030. The World Health Organization (WHO) has classified diabetes as an epidemic that requires urgent action for both prevention and management. It is a chronic metabolic condition that can cause morbidity and mortality if not managed properly.
This course aims to provide theoretical knowledge that will enable us to better understand the complexity of diabetes and living with diabetes and how best to support and enable effective, individualized self-management. It is aimed to gain information about the evidence in line with the current literature, to integrate information from different disciplines and to gain a critical perspective that will improve diabetes care.
