Course Objective

The course aims to enlighten the transformations occurred in art and its philosophy,
particularly within the historical timeline from early Republican era to present, as
well as the fields of education and culture; within the scope of modernist movements in
Türkiye by assessing the development process of art in Turkish people since the age of
ancient tribes, with reference to the core meaning of the concept of art.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   to be able to define the concept of art precisely and to explain its correlation
2   to be able to compare the pre-Republican era sense of art with the Republican era
3   to be able to discuss about the impact of the interaction with the West on
4   to be able to interprete how the contemporary sense of art in Türkiye influence
5   to be able to be informed about the institutionalization process of Republican

It is obligated to continue to at least 70% of lessons. The instructor has right to
