Course Objective

The aim of this course is to create healthy development processes and nursing care of congenital or acquired diseases in newborns by students.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Knowing the characteristics of the newborn period
2   Knowing the newborn's care needs
3   To know the nutritional management of the newborn
4   Knowing the evidence regarding the newborn's nursing care needs
5   Knowledge of evidence-based practices in neonatal pain management.
6   Knowing family-centered care practices for the newborn family
7   Knowing the care needs of the high-risk newborn
8   Ability to plan the discharge of the newborn

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

In the evaluation of the semester, 50% of the midterm grade and 50% of the presentation which is assumed the final grade will be taken.
Semester grade: 50% 1st exam grade + 50% presentation (final grade)

Assessment Criteria

In exams; Interpretation, remembering, decision-making, explanation, classification, information gathering skills will be evaluated.
