Course Objective

This course aims to provide students with a set of tools to analyze, formulate, and implement firm strategy with the aim of attaining sustainable competitive advantage; challenge student knowledge in each business functional area, to create integrative strategies.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Elucidate fundamental concepts and frameworks of environment analysis, market mapping, strategy development and implementation.
2   Apply knowledge to real world situations and managerial decisions.
3   Complete a strategic analysis on a company, considering its industry environment and dynamics, its strategic positioning and internal resources, positioning a course of action for the firm to its strategic challenges.
4   Develop oral/written communication skills; articulate and defend his/her position.
5   Develop and enhance the essential interpersonal skills to be an effective team member.

Assessment Criteria

1. The learner will gain a deeper understanding about business concept, strategy and policy.
2. The learner will develop an integrated strategy including core, functional, business, international strategies.
3. The learner will strengthen management skills.
4. The learner will solve complex problems.

Individual Performance Criterion
1) Time Management: Group members to which extent completed assigned tasks on time (20 points).
2) Feedback: Group member to which extent offered detailed, constructive feedback when appropriate (20 points).
3) Participation: Group member to which extent participated fully and was always on task in-group project (20 points).
4) Cooperation: Group members to which extent treated others respectfully and shared the workload fairly (20 points).
5) Listening: Group members to which extent listened carefully to others ideas (20 points).

Group Performance Criterion
1) Analysis of the Current Situation: Analysis of the company's strategies, results, analysis of the competitors' actions, and influence of those actions on the company s strategy (35 points).
2) Make Appropriate Decisions: Being able to explain why they take those decisions (35 points).
3) Professional Presentation: During your presentation, it is expected to make a professional presentation (maintain eye contact, do not read, organize slide structure, and have comprehensive knowledge of the subject) (30 points).

Assignment Criterion
1) Explain the Organizational Structure: Identify the responsibilities of the group members and draw an organizational chart (50 points)
2) Corporate strategy: Identify the overall corporate strategies you would follow and the functional strategies you would implement (50 points)

Final Project Criterion
1) Analysis of the Company Performance: Overall evaluation of the implementation of the decisions of the group (70 points).
2) Have Comprehensive Knowledge Of The Company Strategies: Being able to answer the questions of the board members (30 points).

Final Presentation Criterion
1) Maintain eye contact (25 points).
2) Do Not Read (25 points).
3) Organize Slide Structure (25 points).
4) Have Comprehensive Knowledge of the Subject (25 points).
