In 330 BC, after the fall of the Persian Empire, Alexander the Great became known as the King of Asia. After Alexander the Great's death, many new kingdoms were established in the lands he ruled. During this period, these kingdoms struggled for dominance among themselves. The Roman Republic, which emerged on the stage of history as a new power and started to dominate the Mediterranean, turned into an empire over time and brought this period to an end in 30 BC.
