Course Objective

The main purpose is to enable students to apply their theoretical and applied knowledge in both small-scale and large-scale fields on a written text. students should be able to evaluate the quality of a text/article/book/file (story, novel, article, newspaper column, legislation and regulations, etc.) in terms of subject, content and genre; organize them according to their suitability for the target audience and area. the order in question is about restructuring texts in all relevant aspects (preserving the author style, making the style common that there is more than one author, ensuring intellectual and chronological coherence, etc.), primarily linguistic.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Recognize the main terms and concepts related to edition and diction.
2   Explain the relationship between edition and book/file content, quality etc. with their features
3   Recognize the differences of proofreading
4   Prepare publication policies in terms of language
5   Compare the purpose of publishing the books/files, their linguistic features, style and expression competencies, etc., according to their area of expertise.

1 What Does Edition and Editorial Mean Introduction and discussion of definitions and applications in the literature
2 What are the Edition Processes I Ideational, intellectual, chronological, etc. edit : word choices, semantic component evaluations
3 What are the Edition Processes II Linguistic organization and structuring: Theme and rheme, focus priorities, etc.
4 Types of Edition I Journal/book Edition Process + sample texts and evaluation
5 Types of Edition II Newspaper and Other Printed Media Edition Process + sample texts and evaluation
6 What are the Basic Duties of the Editor I How is the quality of the text/article/book/file in terms of subject, content and genre determined, and its suitability for the purpose and audience of publication etc.
7 What are the Basic Duties of the Editor II How is the text/text/book/file organized in terms of stylistic and linguistic expression, suggested editing and how is it structured etc.
