Course Objective

To comprehend the contemporary teaching methods and technics used in physics education and to develop their ability to use them.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explain the importance and aims of Science education.
2   Describe scientific literacy and explain the characteristics of a scientifically literate person.
3   Explain the characteristics of general and specific teaching methods and techniques that can be used in science education, and explain the points to take into consideration when employing them in the learning environment.
4   Understand the importance of laboratuar practices in science education.
5   Use simple materials to teach science.
6   Use graphical tools such as concept map, v-diagram for teaching science concepts.
7   Prepare and implement a lesson plan based on the use of teaching methods and techniques throughout the semester for different subjects of science.

10 The use of simple materials in science teaching
11 Concept teaching and use of graphical tools (concept map, v-diagram, informations-curiosities-charts I have learned, etc.)
12 Teaching technique with analogies (combinatorial analogy etc.)
13 Use of scientific models in science teaching
14 Preparation and implementation of lesson plans based on the use of teaching methods and techniques
