Course Objective

The aim of this course is to introduce the students the outdoor resources and environments that can be used in social studies teaching and to teach them the methods and approaches that can be used in the effective use of these resources and environments. The course is also aims to give them practical skills in outdoor social studies teaching.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to explain the basic concepts related to outdoor social studies teaching
2   To be able to define the outdoor resources and environments that can be used in social studies teaching.
3   To be able to explain outdoor teaching methods and techniques that can be used in social studies teaching
4   To be able to determine/select outdoor teaching methods and techniques appropriate to the topic
5   To be able to gain skills in preparing, performing and assessment of outdoor social studies teaching activities.
