Course Objective

The aim of the course is to provide students with a critical awareness in evaluating translated texts in various genres. During the course, students will discuss the criteria for a critical approach using existing methodological approaches and will practice on translated texts.

2   Find and implement appropriate solutions when analyzing translated texts
3   Comment on translator decisions by determining various strategies
4   Evaluate translations on various subjects with a critical point of view
5   Evaluate problems in the area of translation criticism through examples

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Face-to-face and interactive courses. In the first six weeks of the course, students will read articles on methods of criticism and thus learn the methods by discussing them in class. In the following weeks, they will study and practice examples of criticism.
