General Description
History |
Higher Economy and Trade School, on which contemporary Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences was founded upon, was established on September 9th, 1944. It was renamed as Economic and Commercial Sciences Academy on June 8th, 1959 by the by the Law No. 7334. It was included in Ege University as a faculty in 1968. With the establishment of Dokuz Eylül University by Decree Law No. 41 on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions, it was joined the establishment as Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. Contemporarily, the Faculty consists of seven departments which are Business Administration, Economics, Public Finance, Labour Economics and Industrial Relations, Public Administration, Econometrics and Management Information Systems. All departments have both day and evening formal education programmes.

The graduates, who have successfully completed all courses in the curriculum of Econometrics Programme, are awarded with the Bachelors Degree in Management Information Systems. |

Qualification Requirements and Regulations |
Students are required to successfully complete all courses of the program (equivalent to 240 ECTS total) and obtain a minimum average grade point of 2.00 out of 4.00. In addition, conditions in the relevant articles of the second and fourth parts of the Associate and Bachelors Degree Education and Examination Regulations (http://www.deu.edu.tr/DEUWeb/Icerik/Icerik.php KOD=5683) should be met. |
Profile of the Programme |
Management Information Systems are disciplines containing both management and information. At the present time, with the innovations in management brought by Information Technology,more efficient and effective decision making processes had occurred. In addition, Management of Information Systems had independently become a management issue. Topics related do Management Information Systems had emerged interaction and integration of these two fieds. The purpose is not only to make graduate students knowledgeable about contemporary Information Systems and Technologies used for optimization of decision making processes of managers , but also they are expected to have enough knowledge about analytical thinking and structure of an organization.

Graduates can be occupied at state institutions¸ private sectors ,departments of MIS, data processing, knowledge management, data analysis, project management, information systems, research and development in universities. Institutions mentioned have need of these person in order to decide truly in management and to offer optimum level of service without standing behind the developing technologies. For example, there has been a demand for system support personals, IT managers, analysis and reporting experts, and business analysts in sector. |

The graduates who completed undergraduate programs requirements successfully can register to second and third cycle programs (masters and doctorate) of national and international higher education institutions if they can meet the related requirements. |

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading |
The assessment and evaluation methods applied for each course are defined in the course introduction forms prepared by the relevant faculty member(s) and included in the Information Package. Regarding exams and course grades, the relevant articles of Dokuz Eylül University, Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations and Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Teaching and Exam Application Principles are applied. |
Graduation Requirements |
Graduation requirements are as described in the Qualification Requirements and Rules section. Successfully completing all the courses available in the program (for a total of 240 ECTS) and having a weighted grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 are the qualification requirements for graduation. In addition, the conditions in the relevant articles of the second and fourth parts of the Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations must also be met. |
