General Description
History |
The PhD program in International Relations aims at equipping students with advanced level of theoretical and practical knowledge, (oral, written and research) skills and competency, as well as with specialization on International Relations. In addition, in an attempt to qualify its students for research institutions and universities, the program aims to train the students with critical, creative and original thinking skills. The language of the program is English. |

Specific Admission Requirements |
Second Cycle Degree in the same or in related disciplines. Acceptable score on ALES (Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam) or Equivalent GRE, GMAT score. Acceptable score on Language Proficiency Tests. Acceptable weighted score based on the first or second cycle (with thesis) cumulative grade point average (GPA) and ALES score. Final admission is based on the evaluation of the related academic unit committee. |

Profile of the Programme |
The PhD program offers education in the classical fields of international politics, regional studies, political thought and history, international law and related fields of specialization. The students are free to determine their specialization fields by elective courses. The programme aims to develop analytical and communication skills of the students in order to assist them in becoming analytical thinkers. |

Evaluation and assessment methods for each course is defined in the the Course Description Form which is prepared by related faculty member / s and included in the information package. Exams and course success notes is subject to the relevant articles of the DEU Regulation on Graduate Education. |
Graduation Requirements |
Third Cycle (Doctorate Degree) Program with thesis is comprised of courses, a field study, a seminar and thesis, in total 240 ECTS credits. Students must have minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50/4.00 and completed all the courses with at least CB/S/TP grades. |
