Course Objective

This course aims to provide students with oral and written language skills related to tourism sector.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Increasing vocabulary knowledge related to various fields of tourism ( accomodation, travel etc.)
2   Reading and understading documents related to tourism
3   Knowing and applying english expressions used in work life and daily life
4   Using professional expressions in oral and written communication
5   Knowing and applying basic grammar rules

1 Reading texts about food and beverage institutions
2 Vocabulary on food and beverage operations, reading and understanding exercises ( words and expressions about kitchen, service, restaurant, equipment )
3 Taking restaurant reservation, seating guests, taking orders, giving orders, giving information: dialog exercises
4 Presentation of students' dialog assignments
5 Apologizing, requesting, suggessting
6 Grammar: Future Tense
7 Apologizing, request suggestions
8 Midterm exam - text reading
9 Expressions and vocabulary used at airport services
10 texts abour museums, fairs and tours
11 Hotel brochures, information to be included in the brochures
12 Guest relations in tourism: taking complaints
13 Grammar: Past tense
