Course Objective

The course aims to describe the details of natural and adaptive immune responses generated against self (auto) and non-self antigens and to describe the structures and functions of molecular and cellular elements involved in these responses.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Defines the immunity and describes the innate and adaptive immunity in organisms.
2   Explains the antigen presentation, generation of B-cell and T-cell receptors and their functions in antigen recognition.
3   Describes cell signaling events mediated by immune-system receptors.
4   Explains the development and survival of lymphocytes.
5   Describes allergy and allergic diseases.
6   Explains autoimmunity and transplantation immunity.
7   Descirbes methods used in immunology research.
