Course Objective

The objective of this course is to enable students gain a perspective about the practices in hospitality industry, management of various fields of operation and organizations; and to enable them evaluate hospitality trends in Türkiye and the world and the impacts of these trends on religious tourism.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Discuss the developmental process of hospitality industry and its impacts on religious tourism; and in short to explain the history of hospitality industry.
2   Describe hospitality services in order to understand dimensions and extent of hospitality industry.
3   Apprehend the effects of hospitality industry and services on religious tourism; and to understand special service approach required in religious tourism.
4   Demonstrate theoretical knowledge required in order to follow trends in hospitality industry and examine the impacts of these trends on religious tourism.

The details about the preparation of assignments and presantations will be provided upon number of students in the beginning of the term.

Assessment Criteria

Midterm: It will measure levels of students to extrapolate using knowledge acquired.
Assignment /Presentation: It will assess levels of students to make a comment, discuss and offer solution with a holistic approach and capabilities to transfer their knowledge.
Final Exam: It will measure level of students to correlate the concepts discussed during the course, to evaluate and discuss causality and relationships and to propose solutions.
